A-38 year-old male is facing sexual assault and assault charges after he allegedly attacked a woman in her 50s in a downtown bus shelter.
Police say that the attack happened around 5:55 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 near Garry Street and Portage Avenue.
According to police the female was sitting in the bus shelter when the suspect entered, made sexual comments towards the woman then exposed himself and began to assault her.
A passerby called police. The male was arrested when officers arrived on the scene. Police do not believe the suspect and victim knew each other.
The accused was charged then released on an appearance notice as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
