Woman injured during Isabel Street assault

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit are investigating an assault on an adult female early Saturday morning, June 6, 2020.

In an email to News 4, police said officers were called to Isabel Street around 12:45 am just north of Notre Dame Avenue for a report of an assault with a weapon.

When officers arrived on scene they found the injured victim. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

Officers with the Forensics Unit were focusing their efforts on the east sidewalk of Isabel Street as well as in a empty lot on the west side of the street.

No arrests have been made.
