A 30-year-old female is facing charges after allegedly acting in a violent manner on a Winnipeg Transit bus early this morning, June 1, 2021.
According to police the transit driver called for police after the female got on the bus on Osborne Street near Morley Avenue. She apparently began agitating other passengers then turned her attention to the driver. She threw food at the driver and insisted he drive faster.
The suspect then threatened the driver with a syringe saying she was going to stab him. The woman then grabbed the steering wheel which caused the bus to swerve back and forth on the roadway.
Police entered the bus on Main Street at Pioneer Avenue and were able to take the suspect into custody.
The female was charged for her alleged involvement with Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Mischief Under $5,000/ Obstruct Enjoyment.
She was released on an Undertaking.
