Woman charged after driving through Covid-19 check point

Manitoba First Nations Police have charged a 40-year-old female after she drove through a Covid-19 check point on Long Plain First Nation.

Police say that on March 29, 2020 security officers manning the check point contact them after the woman failed to stop and hit one of the officers with her vehicle.

First Nations Police officers located the female driver after executing a warrant at a home on Long Plain First Nation on April 1, 2020.

Officers searched the home and found a quantity of Meth along with nearly $10,000 of counterfeit U.S. currency.

The female homeowner was not at home during the raid but was located soon afterwards and arrested say police.

She was charged with Possession of Counterfeit Money, Fail to Attend Court and Possession of Methamphetamine.

She was also charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle in connection to the incident involving the running of check point

She was released on conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
