Woman Arrested After Armed Robbery in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Police responded to a robbery at a business in the 1500 block of Logan Avenue on Thursday evening.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., a 29-year-old woman allegedly stole merchandise from the store. When confronted by the 23-year-old male victim and asked to return the items, she brandished a handgun and threatened him.  

Police, including K-9 units and the Tactical Support Team, arrived at the scene. K-9 officers tracked the suspect to the 300 block of Blake Street.  

Surveillance footage helped identify the suspect, who is known to police. She was arrested without incident at approximately 11:19 p.m. A firearm was seized during the arrest.  

Sabrina Bignell, 29, of Winnipeg, has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with release conditions.

Bignell remains in custody.
