Winnipeg Woman Arrested After Allegedly Pointing Firearm at Youths Outside Restaurant

A 22-year-old Winnipeg woman was arrested early this morning after allegedly brandishing a firearm during an altercation with a group of youths outside a St. James Street restaurant.

The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call at approximately 11:47 p.m. on March 28, 2025, reporting an individual armed with a firearm in the 600 block of St. James Street. Upon arrival, West District General Patrol officers determined that the suspect, a 22-year-old female, had engaged in a verbal dispute with several youths.

According to police reports, the situation escalated when the suspect allegedly assaulted one of the youths. The youth reacted, causing the suspect to fall to the ground. Following this, the suspect reportedly produced a firearm and pointed it at the youths.

Restaurant staff were alerted to the incident, and police were immediately contacted. Thankfully, no shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

An investigation led officers to the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue, where the suspect was located. At approximately 1:49 a.m., the Tactical Support Team (TST) arrested her without incident.

The 22-year-old Winnipeg woman is now facing the following charges:

  • Assault
  • Pointing a Firearm x 3
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

She was released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
