Winnipeg suspends in-home inspections due to COVID-19

Due to the increased numbers of COVID-19 in the City of Winnipeg, officials are suspending in-home, non-emergency inspections as of Monday October 19, 2020.

Those who have an inspection already schedule will be contacted and presented with an alternate way to have the inspection conducted says the city.

Inspection for Assessment & Taxation, By-Law Enforcement Services, Planning, Property and Development and Water and waste will be conducted virtually, through the use of photos or on the phone.

Unoccupied homes will continue have on-site inspections for urgent situations.

Water and Waste will continue in-home visits for emergency utility services. Water meter returns, removals, and replacements are suspended until further notice.
