Winnipeg Police Search for Third Suspect in Homicide Case

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a third suspect in connection with the homicide of a 22-year-old man.

Zeyad Vifan Shammo, of Ontario, was reported missing on September 10, 2024, from the 300 block of Bridge Lake Drive. Police later determined he had been abducted. His body was discovered on September 13, 2024, inside a residence in the 100 block of Bristol Avenue.

Two suspects, 26-year-old Sonny Balemba and 26-year-old Robert James Chaykowski, both known to the victim, were arrested between September 12 and 14, 2024, and charged with First Degree Murder, Kidnapping, and Extortion. They remain in custody.

Now, investigators are searching for a third individual, 24-year-old Chad Jason Dandan. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of First Degree Murder, Kidnapping, and Extortion.

Dandan is believed to be in the area of Northern Manitoba. He is described as a South Asian male, approximately 5’6” tall with a medium build, weighing approximately 140 lbs.

Police warn that Dandan may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately.
