Winnipeg Police have arrested a 45-year-old male in connection to the murder of 44-year-old Gabriel Coates.

Coates had been seriously assaulted in a park near Higgins Avenue and Maple Street on June 19, 2019.

Investigators say that the suspect and the victim did not know each other.

Jason Thomas Borle from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder.

He was detained in custody.
