Winnipeg Police investigating a collision that sent one person to hospital

Winnipeg Police Service is investigating what appeared to be a collision between a vehicle and a person that happened minutes before 8:00 pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, on Notre Dame Avenue near Isabel Street.

One person was transported to hospital in unknown condition. A pool of blood could be seen on the roadway beside where a bicycle lay on the sidewalk.

Police initially closed traffic at the intersection in all directions as the victim was being treated and transported by paramedics.

North and southbound traffic was reopened about 45 minutes after the collision occurred. Westbound traffic on Notre Dame Avenue was down to one lane as officers from the Traffic Division continued to investigate.

News 4 reached out to the Winnipeg Police Service for more information about the incident. In an emailed response police said they would not be releasing any information on the collision until Sunday. News 4 will update the story when more information is available.
