On June 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a sexual assault at Kirkbridge Park in the Richmond West neighbourhood.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was walking home from a bus stop on Pembina Highway when she was attacked. As she passed through Kirkbridge Park, an unknown male pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The suspect eventually fled the scene on a bicycle, leaving the victim to run to safety.
Upon being contacted, the police arrived at the scene and ensured the victim received medical attention. The Sex Crimes Unit has since taken over the investigation and is in the early stages of gathering more information.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned male who spoke English. He is of average build, approximately 5’8” in height, and was wearing all black clothing, including a black baseball cap, black pants, and a black Covid-type mask. He was last seen fleeing the scene on a bicycle, the description of which is currently unavailable.
