In the early hours of December 27, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service regarding an emergency incident involving an adult male in the 900 block of Dugas Street. At approximately 4:36 a.m., paramedics were administering critical medical care to the individual, who had suffered severe injuries indicative of an assault.
Officers from the East District General Patrol swiftly responded to the scene, confirming the assault and the serious condition of the victim. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The Homicide Unit has since taken charge of the ongoing investigation as efforts continue to identify the victim and piece together the events leading to the assault. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation, including potential video surveillance.
