At approximately 10:30 p.m. on August 7, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue. Upon arrival, North District General Patrol officers discovered an injured male suffering from serious injuries. Emergency medical care was administered, and the injured male was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Colin Jessie Bernardin Hebert, a 32-year-old male from Winnipeg. Following the incident, members of the Homicide Unit were notified and have since continued with the investigation.
Two individuals have been charged in connection with the incident:
- Pierre Flett (36) of Winnipeg faces multiple charges, including Second Degree Murder, Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, and Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine, among others.
- Jared Jackson Bushie (32) of Winnipeg has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
Both suspects have been detained in custody.
