On November 6, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Chief Peguis Trail and Gateway Road. East District General Patrol officers arrived at the scene and found a 34-year-old female pedestrian suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Officers administered emergency medical care until Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service members arrived. The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries.
The 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. The Traffic Division has taken over the investigation.
