The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit continues to investigate the stabbing death of 47-year-old Jeremy Norton Flett, a member of St. Theresa Point First Nation, who was residing in Winnipeg. The incident occurred on the evening of November 7 in the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., West District General Patrol officers responded to the report of an adult male who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, they found Flett suffering from life-threatening injuries. Officers provided emergency medical attention before he was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators have identified 42-year-old David Justin Knott of Winnipeg as the suspect. Knott has been charged with Second Degree Murder and two counts of Failing to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order. He was detained in custody.
