Winnipeg Police investigating a suspicious death at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility

According to police, they received a report that a deceased person was found in an active area of the landfill.

Police went to the facility around 3:00 pm and confirmed a body had been found. The area was cordoned off as the investigation began

Investigators from the homicide unit have identified the victim as 33-year-old Linda Mary Beardy.

Police say that they do not believe that this case is related to any others and that the victim had likely only been in the landfill for a few hours before she was discovered by workers.

It is not believed that there are any other victims related to this case.

Officers had blocked the entrance to the landfill on Monday and are still blocking it as of noon Tuesday.

Brady Road Resource Management Facility is closed today as the investigation continues
