On January 2, 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit arrested a female suspect in connection with the murder of 50-year-old Byron Frederick Moose. The arrest took place in the 900 block of Arlington Street.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Anissa Christy Pompana, has been charged with Second Degree Murder and is currently detained in custody. Investigators revealed that Moose and Pompana were not previously acquainted but had met at a mutually known location. They left this location together and were in the 900 block of Dugas Street when Moose was fatally assaulted by Pompana.
