An off-duty Winnipeg Police officer is facing charges and an internal investigation after being arrested for allegedly being impaired.
Officer Christopher Logan, 29, was found sitting in a running vehicle behind a home in the 500 block of McMeans Avenue East. Police had been called to the home around 11:15 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, for the report of a male in possible medical distress.
The officers who responded determined that Logan appeared to be exhibiting signs of impairment and placed him under arrest.
Logan was charged for his alleged involvement with Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba was informed of the arrest and will be monitoring the investigation. The Winnipeg Police Service Professional Standards Unit are investigating the incident.
Police say that Logan has been a member of the Winnipeg Police Service for 5 ½ years,
