On September 22, 2024, officers from the Central District successfully located and apprehended Devon Charlie COLOMB, 26, who was wanted for Accessory to Murder in relation to the homicide of Ashley Isabella MURDOCK on July 5, 2024. COLOMB has been charged with Accessory to Murder and is currently in custody after being turned over to the Homicide Unit.
The Winnipeg Police Service had previously stated that three individuals had been charged in the homicide and that Colomb was wanted in connection to the case. Murdock was found deceased at approximately 7:20 a.m. on July 5, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Kennedy Street. Investigators determined that Murdock had been moved from another location while already deceased before being discovered at the Kennedy Street address.
Three individuals were previously charged in relation to the homicide:
- Kelly Marie KROEKER, 32, was charged with Second Degree Murder.
- Kenneth Walter YOUNG, 28, was charged with Accessory to Murder.
- Charles Harold WOOD, 38, was charged with Accessory to Murder.
