Winnipeg Man Succumbs to Assault Injuries; Police Seek Information

 A 35-year-old man, originally from St. Theresa Point First Nation and currently residing in Winnipeg, has died following a serious assault on Princess Street, according to the Winnipeg Police Service.

The victim, identified as Kyle Beardy, was transported to the hospital in critical condition on the evening of May 6, 2024, from the 300 block of Princess Street. The attending officers from the Central District General Patrol learned that Beardy had been admitted with serious injuries sustained in an assault.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Beardy succumbed to his injuries. His death is currently being treated as suspicious.

The Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the investigation. Notification to Beardy’s family members has been made, and an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
