Winnipeg man facing child porn charges

A 26-year-old Winnipeg male is facing child pornography charges stemming from an investigation that began in October 2020.

Police say they learned of a Winnipeg IP address linked to uploading child sexual abuse images and video between May and June 2020, on the KIK messenger app and Instagram from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre in Ottawa.

Investigators from the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit were able to link the IP address to a physical street address in east Winnipeg.

Officers obtained a search warrant seizing electronic devices. An analysis of the devices led to the arrest of and charges being laid against Adam Lewis Berk-Charbonneau.

Charbonneau has been charged for his alleged involvement with 22 criminal offences relating to possessing, distributing, and making Child Pornography, as well as Luring by Means of telecommunications.
