Winnipeg man facing animal cruelty charges

Winnipeg Police have charged a 32-year-old male with Causing Unnecessary Suffering to an Animal after a Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) investigator located a cat in severe distress, suffering from a severely injured limb and facial injuries.

WHS investigated the abuse of the cat on April 29, 2022 at a residence in the 900 block of Sherbrook Street. Due to the damage to the cat’s leg it had to be amputated.

On May 2, after consulting with the Chief Veterinary Office of Manitoba the male suspect was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement.

He was released on an Appearance Notice.
