A 62-year-old male from Winnipeg is dead after the snowmobile he was driving collided head-on with a tree.
RCMP say the collision happened on Sunday, February 20, 2022, in the Lake Metigoshe area of Turtle Mountain Provincial Park around 5:30 pm
Police believe that man was the lead rider in a group of snowmobilers who were on a groomed trail when his ski was pulled in loose snow towards the tree.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision and the rider was wearing safety equipment at the time of the collision.
RCMP continue to investigate.
