A 29-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged in connection with a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Lagimodiere Boulevard in February 2024.
The incident, which took place on February 11, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., at the intersection of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Cottonwood Road, involved two vehicles. General Patrol members from the East District and investigators from the Traffic Division responded to the scene.
A male driver in his 40s was transported to hospital in critical condition and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. Family notifications have been made. The driver of the second vehicle, a male in his 20s, was also taken to hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and later met with police.
Following an extensive investigation, the case was forwarded to Crown Prosecutions for review.
On February 28, 2025, nearly a year after the collision, a 29-year-old male was arrested. He is facing charges of Drive Carelessly – Cause Death and Drive Suspended/Disqualified.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and will appear in court at a later date.
