Winnipeg Man Arrested for Multiple Charges Including Sexual Assault

A 49-year-old man from Winnipeg, Alfred Colin Muskego, has been arrested and charged with multiple offences, including sexual assault, following two incidents in the St. John’s neighbourhood.

The first incident occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. when Muskego was spotted watching a mother and her two children from across the street. The woman retreated inside her home with her children and locked the doors. Muskego attempted to break into the house but was scared off by another person within the residence. The Winnipeg Police were contacted and an investigation was initiated.

Approximately 10 minutes later, Muskego entered an apartment building nearby. Armed with a syringe, he confronted two teenage girls, forcing them into a bedroom where he threatened to kill them and physically and sexually assaulted them. Muskego passed out, allowing the victims to call 911. Upon arrival, the police took Muskego into custody. The victims were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The Sex Crimes Unit took over the investigation and linked Muskego to both incidents. He has been charged with break and enter & commit sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, and break & enter with intent – dwelling house. Muskego has been detained in custody.
