A Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges, including voyeurism and distributing intimate images without consent, following an investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Domestic Violence Unit. The investigation has also led to the arrest of a school division official on related charges.
According to police, the investigation began in January 2025 after an adult female reported that intimate images created and distributed by her former partner had been shared without her consent. On January 9th, these images were sent to a school division official where the victim was employed. The official subsequently forwarded the images to other individuals.
On January 15th, police arrested the former partner. He was charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Voyeurism
- Administer Noxious Thing with Intent to Aggrieve or Annoy
- Assault x 2
- Unlawfully in Dwelling House
- Assault by Choking, Suffocating or Strangling
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Distribute Intimate Image Without Consent
- Disobeying Order of Court
He was detained in custody.
Further investigation and forensic analysis led to the arrest of the school division official on March 20th, 2025. This individual has been charged for their alleged involvement with Distributing Intimate Image Without Consent and was released on an Undertaking.
The Winnipeg Police Service emphasizes that sharing intimate images without consent is a criminal offence. They urge anyone who is a victim of non-consensual distribution of intimate images to seek help. Resources such as Cybertip and the police are available.
