Winnipeg Man Arrested After Weapons Found in Boarded-Up Apartment

A 28-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple weapons charges after police discovered a zip-gun and other items in a boarded-up apartment suite. On February 14, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers were investigating an unrelated matter in the 400 block of Edmonton Street when they noticed a breached, boarded-up suite in an apartment complex.

Upon entering the suite, officers found an adult male and an adult female. Both were arrested without incident. A search of the suite uncovered a backpack belonging to the male suspect, which contained an unloaded Powerline Daisy 426 air pistol with a CO2 cartridge, a zip-gun (in two pieces), and two .22 calibre rounds.

Romeo Chris Morris Miles, 28, of Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with two counts each of Possession of a Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Fail to Comply with a Probation Order, and Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order. He was also charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling House and has been detained in custody.

A 29-year-old Winnipeg woman is facing a charge of Unlawfully in a Dwelling House. She was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
