A 27-year-old Winnipeg man faces multiple charges after a chaotic incident at a restaurant on Sherbrook Avenue Friday evening, according to the Winnipeg Police Service.
Officers responded to a call at approximately 7:47 p.m. on March 28, 2025, reporting a disturbance and property damage at a restaurant in the 700 block of Sherbrook Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the male suspect, who had reportedly caused significant damage to the restaurant.
Police say the suspect then began throwing items at a 39-year-old restaurant staff member, as well as at the responding officers. The suspect was uncooperative during the arrest, leading officers to deploy a conducted energy weapon to bring him safely into custody.
Fortunately, neither the staff member, the officers, nor the suspect sustained injuries requiring medical attention.
The 27-year-old male has been charged with:
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Assault a Peace Officer x 2
- Assault
He was released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
