Winnipeg fire ban extended until August 11th

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service has extended the open-air fire ban within the city until Wednesday August 11, 2021 due to ongoing dry conditions.

The ban prohibits open fires, backyard fire pits, fireworks, fire pit use in city parks and barbecues and other appliances that use solid fuel like charcoal or wood.

Barbecues that use propane, natural gas or pellets, fire tables and household smokers are permitted under the ban.

All existing permits are suspended and no new permits will be issued during the ban. Those who violate the fire ban are subject to a $500 fine.
