On July 6, 2023, a 53-year-old Winnipeg driver was killed in a two-vehicle collision on the Yellowhead Highway (HWY 16).
The collision happened around 10:25 am about 12 kilometres east of Gladstone. Police say that the female victim was driving an SUV westbound when the vehicle veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a semi-truck.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 18-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 63-year-old driver of the semi was not physically injured.
RCMP continue to investigate.
