Winnipeg Bank Employee Charged in $27,000 Fraud

A 31-year-old Winnipeg woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a $27,000 fraud that took place at a South Winnipeg financial institution between April and July 2024.

Winnipeg Police were alerted to the incident on November 18, 2024, and the Financial Crime Unit launched an investigation. Investigators determined that a female employee used her position to steal approximately $27,000 from client funds, depositing the money into her personal bank account.

Police confirmed that all financial losses were recovered and returned to the affected clients.

The suspect was arrested without incident at Police Headquarters on February 4, 2025. She is charged with Fraud over $5,000 and Theft over $5,000. She was released on an Appearance Notice, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
