Winkler Police responded to an alarm early Tuesday morning, November 27, 2018, only to find a large hole in the front wall of a 1st Street business.
Police say that a stolen truck was backed through the front of the store and about 35 handguns and long guns were stolen. Investigators say that the thieves were in and out within a few minutes. The theft is believed to be the largest gun theft in Winkler history.
The stolen truck was found outside Winkler later in the morning.
