Winkler Police raid home arrest man for trafficking​ Meth

Winkler Police Service have arrested a 53-year-old male in connection to an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in that Southern Manitoba city.

Police say that on January 9, 2019 with the assistance of the Regional Support Tactical Team they raided a home in the 500 block of Park Street in Winkler and executed a search warrant.

The investigation and raid stemmed from a December 29, 2018 traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle that had left the same Park Street home. The driver turned out to be suspended from driving and was arrested. When he was searched officers found a small quantity of Methamphetamine on his person. He is facing several Highway Traffic Act offences.

When officers raided the home they found about five grams of Methamphetamine and evidence of trafficking Meth.

An adult female and another adult male were arrested at the time of the raid but were released without any charges

Cornelius Thiessen has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possess Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possess Proceeds Obtained by Crime.

Thiessen was detained in custody.
