Windsor Hotel site of multiple arrests in early November

The Windsor Hotel was a busy place for Winnipeg Police in early November.

Officers from the Guns and Gangs Unit went to the hotel on Garry Street for a routine call on November 2, 2019.

While there, officers encountered a male who was wanted for breaching a court order. He was arrested.

A search of his possessions uncovered more than $19,000 worth of Cocaine, Crack and OxyNeo. Officers also found a loaded 9mm handgun, sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, ammunition, five cell phones and $7,600 in cash.

46-year-old Sean Bennett is facing a number of weapons and drug charges for his alleged involvement.

Two days later the Guns and Gangs Unit was back at the hotel to conduct an on-going investigation when they spotted a bag of Meth on a table.

Officers searched the surrounding area and found Meth, a loaded pellet gun, a zipgun and a .22 calibre rifle. They also found cash, packaging materials, ammunition and score sheets.

David Allan White, 55 was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Possess Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x 2
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized 
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Possess Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

On November 6, 2019, general patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired inside the hotel.

Officers learned that a woman was hit with the butt-end of a shotgun after getting into an argument with a male suspect. The male then pointed the weapon at the female who was able to push it away with her arm. The gun was then discharged into a suite door.

Police say the suspect took off before they arrived.

A bag was seized at the scene that contained three firearms and several rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was found on December 11, 2019, and taken into custody.

Randall Preston Bourassa, 31 was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm with Intent
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Weapon x 3
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3
  • Possess Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 

All three suspects were detained in custody.
