The province of Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has issued a high wind-effect warning for the south basin of Lake Manitoba as well as for the shorelines near Gimli and Victoria Beach on Lake Winnipeg.
High winds are expected tonight into tomorrow.
According to forecasters the wind speed and wave action could raise water levels by more than five feet.
Property owners in the area are being advised to take precautions.
