Review Board grants absolute discharge
In a decision that was not a surprise Will Baker (a.k.a. Vince Li) was granted an absolute discharge by the Manitoba Review Board.
In 2008 Baker beheaded Tim McLean on a Greyhound bus just outside of Portage la Prairie. He was found not criminally responsible at trial.
Baker has been on medication for his schizophrenia under supervision and has lived on his own for the past year.
At the Review Board hearing Baker’s lawyer argued that he does not pose a risk to the public and doctors agreed.
Baker will no longer need any supervision and will no longer be subject to Review Board hearings.
