RCMP has arrested a 51-year-old male and issued him multiple tickets for breaching COVID-19 restrictions after an incident in a Main Street business in Inglis, Manitoba.
Police say that on the afternoon of Wednesday March 24, 2021, the accused entered a business without wearing a mask. When he was asked to put one on he refused and began banging his fist on the counter and plexiglass partition between him and the employee. The man left the store for a few minutes then returned and continued cause a disturbance.
Police were called about the incident and found the male inside his own business within the community a short time later. Officers say the male then began yelling and swearing at them and was eventually arrested.
Officers charged the male with Mischief and causing a disturbance for his alleged involvement. He was also issued two $298 tickets for failing to wear a mask and he also received a $5,000 for failing to wear a mask in his own business.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in court in June.
