Two Winnipeg men are facing drug and other charges after a wellbeing check led to the discovery of cocaine and cash at an apartment complex on Kennedy Street, according to the Winnipeg Police Service.
On March 8, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from the Central District General Patrol responded to a call regarding the wellbeing of a young female at a suite in the sub 100 block of Kennedy Street. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the female youth was safe and uninjured.
During their investigation, officers located two adult males hiding within the suite. Close to the men, they discovered a black satchel containing approximately 248 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $24,600, and approximately $400 in Canadian currency. Both men were arrested without incident.
A 38-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
A 41-year-old Winnipeg man faces more extensive charges, including Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order, Warrant – Fail to Comply Release Order, and Warrant – Store Firearm Careless Manner.
Both men have been detained in custody.
