WINNIPEG WEATHER

WEATHER | WE MADE IT THROUGH THE STORM… NOW THE DEEP FREEZE!

 Welcome to Winter!

Congratulations you have successfully made past the first storm of the winter (although technically it is still fall). 30 cm of snow is not new to you. You are used to it. It just means its time to switch from sandals to running shoes.

Now the bad news…

It’s time for the deep freeze as painfully cold arctic air swoops in and cuts like a knife. Every breath brings the question “why do I live in Winnipeg?”

The forecast is in and no matter how many times you look at the weather app on your smart phone or how often you google “Winnipeg weather” the results will be the same. COLD!

THURSDAY- Periods of light snow. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. Temperature falling to minus 12 this afternoon.
THURSDAY NIGHT – Cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. Wind northwest 20 km/h. Low minus 23. Wind chill minus 33.
FRIDAY –  Mainly sunny. Wind west 20 km/h. High minus 19. Wind chill minus 34.
FRIDAY NIGHT – Cloudy periods with 30 percent chance of flurries. Low minus 25.

The upside to the beginning of the cold season is that within a few week you will get used to breathing through a scarf and you will venture out to 7/11 for your Slurpee fix like it’s the middle of July.

And remember it’s a dry cold!
