A-45-year-old male will be heading to court after he was arrested by Winnipeg Police for weapons trafficking.
Police say that the accused allegedly purchased a handgun legally the gave it to another person who could not legally purchase a weapon.
On June 28, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police pulled a 35-year-old male over and during the traffic stop found a loaded 9mm handgun in the vehicle.
The OPP investigation determined that the weapon was registered to a Winnipeg man and the gun had not ben reported lost or stolen.
The OPP contacted Winnipeg Police and an investigation was begun.
Police arrested the male suspect at a St. Boniface home and seized a 9mm Beretta handgun, a 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun as well as a Smith and Wesson AR15 rifle. the AR15 is a restricted weapon.
The accused was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
