Winnipeg police have arrested a 29-year-old male and a 24-year-old male in connection to a break and enter.
On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, around 6:10 pm police responded to a report that a break and enter at a house under construction on Dufferin Avenue was in progress.
When officers arrived they determined that a number of suspects had left the scene of the break-in and gone to a nearby residence. Officers also determined that a vehicle seen at the break-in had been stolen.
Police went to the nearby home and arrested two men. While in the home officers found a number of weapons. Officers seized a sawed-off modified 12-gauge shotgun, an SKS style rifle with a bayonet knife mounted to the barrel, ammunition and a 45cm Machete.
Steve Ray Ballantyne has been charged for his alleged involvement with 22 criminal offences including Break and Enter and Firearms offences. He was detained in custody.
A 24-year-old male is facing charges for his alleged involvement with Break and Enter Dwelling House. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
