Late Friday night,
The driver of the vehicle, as it turned out, was on a recognizance order and was not permitted to communicate with his female passenger. Officers placed him under arrest for breaching that order.
A search of his vehicle after his arrest uncovered a syringe full of Methamphetamine in a bag the female passenger was holding that belonged to the driver, a .45 calibre handgun and a case containing ammunition. Police determined that the firearm had been stolen from a Dauphin home in 2016.
The 35-year-old male from Hartney, Manitoba charged for his alleged involvement with Breach of Recognizance x 2, Careless Transportation of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Vehicle, Possess a Loaded Restricted Firearm, Possess Weapon
He was detained in custody at the Brandon Correction Centre.
