Winnipeg Police busted a home in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Officers from the Community Support Unit and members of the Tactical Support Team and Organized Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.
Police seized a number of items used in drug trafficking, a loaded .357 Magnum revolver, cash and drugs.
Upon investigation, officers learned that the gun seized had been reported stolen to police in Calgary.
33-year-old Derek James Funk from Winnipeg has been arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with a number of drug and firearms offences including:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X2
- 13 firearms related offences
- And a number of driving related offences
Funk was detained in custody.
Police also arrested two other people, a 30-year-old female and a 33-year-old male. They have been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X2 and a number of firearms related offences.
