Man faces weapons charges after making threats on Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old male with a number of weapons charges after he made a number of threatening comments to people on Selkirk Avenue on Friday night, November 23, 2018.

Police initially received a report just before 9:30 pm that the man had a firearm. A second report that the suspect went into a nearby youth resource centre asking to use the phone came in shortly afterwards.

Officers responded, found the man in the resource centre and took him into custody. A search of him found an improvised pipe gun loaded with a 12 gauge shotgun shell. He also had three more shells.

Cody-Henry Bousquet from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

He was detained in custody.
