Winnipeg Police began a firearms investigation into a 35 year old Winnipeg man last December.
In March police arrested Conor Errols Woods and executed a search warrant on his residence on Edgewood Street.
Investigators found a number of firearms and a large quantity of ammunition, in addition to electronics, computer hardware and an amount of marijuana. The investigation also revealed that the suspect had been firing guns in the basement of the property.
Forensic investigation into the seized computer found evidence of child pornography.
On June 27, 2017 Woods was re-arrested and more charges were laid.
Woods is now facing the following charges in relation to firearms and child pornography for his alleged involvement
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x4)
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x8)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x5)
- Possess of Scheduled Substance (Marijuana)
- Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possession for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit (The Body Armour and Fortified Vehicle Control Act)
He was detained in custody.
