A tense situation in Gods Lake Narrows ended with one man in custody.
RCMP say that on Thursday, May 9, 2019 they had responded to a disturbance call at a home in the remote community about 548 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

Officers learned that one male had been assaulted and a the suspect had gone into another room in the residence. As police approached the door to the room the suspect was in they heard the distinct sound of a shotgun being loaded.
The officers burst through the door to find a
“Their quick response and actions resulted in the safe arrest of the suspect and no further harm to any other resident within the home,” Sgt. Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP.
Once in custody the officers examined the shotgun to find a round in the chamber and several rounds in the weapons magazine.
The 25-year-old suspect is facing a number of weapon and assault charges for his alleged involvement
