9mm handgun found after police stop a suspicious vehicle

Winnipeg Police have arrested a 34-year-old Winnipeg man after he bolted from a suspicious vehicle.

Sunday night, June 16, 2019, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle near Talbot Avenue and Brazier Street.

Officers located the vehicle in the same area and spoke with the people inside.

One of the occupants was asked by officers to exit the vehicle and when he did he took off on foot.

Officers gave chase and had to shoot the male with a taser in order to place him under arrest.

A search of the suspect uncovered a loaded 9mm handgun along with extra ammunition.

Buchannan Eyolfson is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement.
