Weapon incident at police HQ sees one male facing charges

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a 43-year-old male after he walked into the police HQ entryway and told security that he had a firearm.

The man had been spotted pacing in front of the building prior to coming in and appeared to be agitated.

Officers evacuated the station duty area while other officers confronted the man. Police say the male then threw a handgun to the ground before being taken into custody.
