A 16-year-old male from the RM of Springfield is facing a number of weapons charges after it was reported he was walking around the Chicken Daze Festival with a firearm on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Officers on patrol at the festival located the youth and conducted a “high-risk” takedown of the suspect. When police searched the teen they found a replica handgun concealed in his clothing.
Charges of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and several counts of Failing to Comply with court-imposed conditions were laid against the suspect.
Police also learned that the 16-year-old had been reported missing from Winnipeg.
