RCMP in Shamattawa are searching for 27-year-old Desmond Redhead after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female youth in the community who was known to him.
Police say that the assault took place on June 18, 2018, and upon learning of the crime they broadcast an advisory on the local radio station asking people in the community to be vigilant.
Investigators have brought in additional officers as well as Police Dog Services to aid in the search for Redhead.
Anyone with information about where Redhead is hiding is asked to call police at 204-565-2351 or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
